The Albany Bulb used to be an industrial waste dumping area along the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay. The dumping was stopped in the mid 1980s, and the vegetation started taking over. The wildlife has made a comeback, too — I've seen rabbits, squirrels, lizards, and lots of birds. The local artists turned The Bulb into an outdoor art gallery.
